1968: A Transformative Encounter
It all began on March 23, 1968. Andrew Wommack, then a young man striving to earn his relationship with God, experienced a profound transformation. Confronted with his own legalism and self-righteousness, he was overwhelmed by God’s unconditional love and grace. This life-changing moment redirected Andrew’s path and laid the foundation for a ministry dedicated to teaching the true essence of God’s love.
1972 – 1980: The Beginnings of Ministry
In 1972, Andrew and Jamie Wommack married and began their journey of faith together. They started teaching Bible studies and pastoring small churches while growing their family. By 1976, Andrew launched his first Gospel Truth radio program in Childress, Texas. The ministry soon relocated to Colorado Springs, where their vision expanded: to share the Gospel’s truth across the globe, emphasizing grace and faith.
1994: Charis Bible College
Andrew’s vision for deeper Bible instruction led to the founding of Charis Bible College in 1994. With practical training and academic instruction, Charis equipped students to fulfill their divine callings. This move significantly multiplied the impact of Andrew’s teachings.
2000 – 2008: Expanding Horizons
In 2000, Andrew’s Gospel Truth program began airing nationally in the USA. Inspired by its success, Andrew and Jamie sought to bring the program to Canada. In 2004, Ron Driediger, deeply moved by the program, committed to making it available in Canada. By 2008, the Gospel Truth program began broadcasting across Canada, marking a significant milestone in our expansion.
2012 – 2022: Impactful Decade
Andrew Wommack visited Canada for the first time in 2012, further solidifying the ministry’s presence. The following year, the first Charis Bible College in Canada opened in Toronto, with the inaugural graduating class completing their studies in 2015. A notable highlight was March 23, 2018, when Andrew Wommack Ministries celebrated 50 years of transformative ministry. The milestone was a testament to the enduring impact of Andrew’s teachings and the growth of the ministry’s reach. In 2018, the Gospel Truth Seminar in Toronto attracted a record crowd, highlighting the ministry’s growing influence.
2023 – Present: Growing Strong in Canada
In September 2023, Andrew Wommack introduced Charis Online Campus, significantly enhancing our mission to train disciples in the uncompromising truth of God’s Word by offering 1st-year courses in both English and French, making it more accessible for individuals across Canada to receive quality Bible education. In addition to this, Charis Bible College has expanded with hybrid classes. This flexible format supports students in their studies while balancing other commitments, contributing to the college’s significant growth. These two modalities—Charis Online Campus and hybrid classes—reflect our commitment to providing diverse and effective learning options.
Today, Andrew Wommack Ministries Canada continues to thrive, reaching more lives through television, social media, and events. Our mission remains clear: to spread the Gospel as far and as deep as possible.
